6-Week Online Programme for Parents/Carers of Anxious Children
background darkener

This day is designed for people who have some meditation practice already, whether from doing a mindfulness course, using apps or just your own daily practice. It is also for you if your practice has lapsed and you want to get back into it! The day is designed to be a mini-retreat, and we will spend most of it in silence. You will be guided in various mindfulness practices, including some that you may not have practiced before and there will be time for reflection and sharing.

Here is a testimony from a recent silent retreat day participant:

"Thank you so much for an incredible and meaningful day. You were fantastic and guided us perfectly. Let me know when the next one is."

Please feel free to arrange a free 15 minute call with Jo to ask any questions before you book, HERE.

4-Week Online Programme for Parents/Carers of Anxious Children

Caring for a child who is struggling with anxiety is really tough. This course is designed to help you understand your child's anxiety better, and provide you with practical things to try that you may not have tried before.

It might seem like you've tried every approach, faced conflicting advice, or you are consumed by fear for your child's well-being. You may also find it is triggering anxiety of your own.

But remember, you are not alone.

In Britain, it's estimated that around 300,000 young people experience some form of anxiety disorder.

This course is designed to help you understand your child's anxiety better, and provide you with practical things to try that you may not have tried before, as well as looking at how we can manage our own anxiety. You will be part of a community of people who are facing similar challenges to you and you will have a chance to support each other.

These 6 weekly online sessions will be interactive, practical and applicable to every day life.

They will support you to manage the stresses and strains of taking care of an anxious child with all of the fears and emotions that come with it. You will be invited to try things during the week to see what impact they have on both you, and the people around you. It will require some hard work, commitment and desire for change as you will be doing the work.

There will be a lot of support available from me and nothing will feel like it is not possible to try. If you have reached the point where you can clearly see what you are currently trying is not working, and you know change is necessary, then this is the programme for you.

The dates of the programme are:

Fridays, 11.00am-12.30pm

February 23

March 1, 8, 15

Half-Day Silent Retreat

This is a shortened ‘taster’ version of the whole day silent retreat for those who are curious but are not yet ready to commit to a full day.  It will consist of a few mindfulness practices, and time for reflection and sharing.

I appreciate that six hours of silent practice may be a bit too much for some, so I am offering this half day ’taster’ so you can give it a try for yourself.  As with the whole day retreat, phones will be switched off and much of the time will be me guiding practices, with time to share and reflect at the end.  I am always on hand to answer any questions or concerns during the retreat.

Here is a testimony from a recent slient retreat day participant:

"Holding, peaceful and special/ unique. Was inspired by Jo’s passion for meditation and mindfulness practice, her generous spirit and care felt held throughout the day."

Humans are habitual creatures, and we get good at what we practice.  Whether this be practicing things that are helpful, or unhelpful to our lives. If you have got to the point in your life where you are aware that what you are practicing is no longer working, then this is the right time to come and learn new ways of being.  By committing to four sessions, you will be accountable for the practice you do and be able to reflect on what is working for you.

  • Cope better with stress, pain, and anxiety

  • Manage challenging events more skillfully

  • Be fully present and alive in this moment

Research shows that practicing mindfulness can have a significant impact for those experiencing stress, anxiety, high blood pressure, depression, chronic pain, migraines, heart conditions, diabetes and other ailments. "Jo’s passion for mindfulness is compelling. Jo teaches her subject with passion and enthusiasm. Throughout the course she instructs us how to live more mindfully and in the present but also prompts us to come to your own conclusions about areas of our lives that we live on auto pilot and that we are not even aware that we do it. This course has fundamentally changed the way I view various aspects of my life!"

~ Lynne
